The singer released her debut single, Here in 2015 at the age of aged 19. It went down a storm and received praise from the public and from critics. The single peaked at 19th in both the Canadian Hot 100 as well as Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone named the smash one of the best Songs of 2015. Her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was one of five tracks that made it to the top spot on Billboard as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 in addition to Billboard Hot 100. This particular song was special because it was based on an interview with Rap-Up, many people shared their experiences through self-doubt and discovering how to be a better person. Cara is known for infusing lyrics about mental health care and self-love in her songs. All of Cara's music stems directly from her struggles with insomnia and mental illness. According to an Reuters interview, the album has been described as tumultuous yet perfected. She claims that she gained strength through therapy, and encourages anyone else to seek out help as needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th July 1996. Her parents gave her a guitar when she was only the age of 10. This ignited her love for music. She began covering songs that she liked at the age of thirteen to show everyone that she was a singer with the talent and courage needed to sing. A cover of one of her songs, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to compose and compose her own music.
